Thanks to strict preservation rules, there was much that had to be kept exactly as is in Lázaro Rosa-Violán’s Barcelona apartment, an Art Nouveau jewel by a Gaudí disciple complete with boiserie panelling, stained glass and oriel windows to turn tourists’ heads. But the interior designer couldn’t resist adding splashes of his own rumbustious taste – not least a generous helping of Yves Klein blue, which, he declares, has long been something of a ‘fetish’ for him.
